Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (Square Enix)

With its light-hearted gameplay and silly graphics, Mario Hoops probably won't win over a diehard basketball fan but it's entertaining enough to keep most gamers glued to the on-court action. Nintendo definitely shoots and scores with this one.

Wario Master of Disguise is a surprisingly lacklustre title from the usually reliable bods at Nintendo. There is some fun to be had, but we were expecting a bit more.

Luninous Ark is a solid, by-the-book RPG that won't disappoint fans of genre. Having said that, it fails to deliver anything new and is over all too quickly.

Drawn to Life (THQ)

Drawn to Life is probably a must-have for every DS owner's library. It's super adorable all around and it has tons of replay value. Who your character is and the shape of his environment is literally up to you, so play it as a goth chick, a monkey, an anthropomorphic banana--whatever fits your inner style.

DK Jungle Climber (Nintendo)

DK: Jungle Climber is arguably more of what we saw in King of Swing, but with updated graphics. For those who felt that game was already a one-trick pony, it may be an undesirable sequel, but tons of hard-to-reach collectibles, unlockable mini-games, and four-player downloadable battles will keep the rest of us honing our skills for hours.

Sonic Rush Adventure (Sega)

Overall, Sonic Rush Adventure is a welcome and surprising addition to the vast Sonic canon. I can only hope that the other Sonic titles on the horizon are as good as this one.

The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass (Nintendo)

All in all, the Phantom Hourglass is a successful sequel that improves on everything that its predecessor did right. It is a title that all Zelda fans should get their hands on -- it'll make the wait for the next home console Zelda title that much shorter.

In spite of its simplicity, Nintendo definitely continues to do well in the adventure/side-scrolling genre with Super Princess Peach.

Yoshi's Island (Nintendo)

However, despite small annoyances, Yoshi's Island 2 is fun and light-hearted play. A tongue of praise to Yoshi's Island 2 for not only remaining true to the classical style but also adding new elements to keep things fresh.

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl (Nintendo)

Whether you're a long time fan or Pokemon newcomer, this is a solid, fun game. Pearl and Diamond are virtually identical so there's no reason to pick up both. Though levelling up is easier and quicker than any other game in the series, be prepared to lose countless hours to catching and training your Pokemon.

Diddy Kong Racing DS (Nintendo)

Diddy Kong Racing DS had lot of potential but fell short in delivering a solid racing experience. If the controls weren't so frustrating, the game play experience would have been a lot more enjoyable. Save this for a used-game price or a rental -- spending the retail price for it won't be worth it.

Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker (Square Enix)

Joker could've used a heaping helping of the friendly big touch-screen button style interface that the latest Pokemon mastered, but ultimately with these monster hunter games, it's really just up to your brand preference.
