It's too bad 2142 isn't a major evolution over the titles that came before it but it's entertaining enough, and as the old saying goes, you shouldn't look a gift hovertank in the mouth.

Put simply, Company of Heroes is a masterpiece. Its dedication to realistic battle concepts and tactical warfare is enough to make it a high watermark for the RTS genre but its excellent graphics and physics, along with an intensely enjoyable single-player campaign and multiplayer options, help make this an instant classic.

What we have in Mage Knight is a poor attempt to hop on the WoW gravy train. The developer clearly flayed all the depth and nuance out of the formula that made WoW such a huge commercial success, delivering instead a soulless husk stuffed with empty promises and features that you wouldn't want anyway. Save your money or better yet, extend that WoW sub for another month instead.

Some may be disappointed that this isn't a 'true' sequel, and others will lament how the new areas don't fuse with the current world, but the bottom line is simple: no WoW player will be disappointed with this expansion. Get it now!

It's Halo 2. Again. If you're a non-Xbox owning Vista user, you'll enjoy it. Everyone else should definitely hold out for Halo 3.

Command & Conquer 3 is a welcome return of the C&C brand and a fitting conclusion to the Tiberium trilogy. One of the finest RTS games to date.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R is both an enthralling and scary experience set in a uniquely eerie landscape. However, the game is shipped with bugs and it requires a lot of in-game reading which can take the fun out of gameplay.

Shadowrun will offer lots of fun to anyone who enjoys online gaming. If you prefer to play solo however, there's not much here to recommend.

If you are into LOTR, you'll probably find this a more engaging experience than other fantasy MMOs because of the meatiness of Tolkien's Middle Earth. As an MMORPG, it's pretty hard to fault.

One thing I was disappointed by was the lack of an offline skirmish mode. There is no Soviet campaign, so there is way for you to get a feel for the Soviet units without going online, which is a shame. In spite of this, World In Conflict features some of the most innovative ideas in the genre and combines it seamlessly with engaging and thrilling gameplay. It's a definite winner and is my front runner for RTS game of the year.

It's obvious after my limited play time that Splash Damage did a bang up job of crafting a fun and addictive team-based FPS experience. I feel like I just barely scratched the surface and can't wait to dig down deeper into what the game truly has to offer. I really do hope that a lot of players buy the game and hop online, if only so I can be guaranteed a steady stream of opponents to play against.

Few expansion packs come loaded with as many new features as Relic has seen fit to put in -- two entirely new sides, an equal number of expansive campaigns, and enough potential multiplayer action to keep any player occupied for months. With that said it's not hard to recommend Opposing Fronts to either returning veterans or eager newcomers; both will find something new and exciting waiting for them on top of an already stellar base.

Infernal is a solid and entertaining action game that had us playing for hours on end. Despite there not being any star power, we can't wait to see what the developers of Infernal will be creating next.

Hellgate: London does offer some simple-minded entertainment, but it falls well short of its lofty goals, a fact that is made all the more galling when you consider the fact that the developer, Flagship Studios, was founded by two of Diablo's creators. You might get sucked into the online world of competing slayers and level grinding for a while, but the tedium will kill you far quicker than any member of Hell's vast army.

Crysis is an enticing adventure all the way through to the end. It's a worthy follow-up to the excellent Far Cry and a great step forward for PC gaming as a whole.
