A real time strategy title for the DS that's not only good, but serves as a new iteration in a tried and true franchise? I think you can understand if we were sceptical. However Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes is a finely crafted and novel venture into the handheld RTS genre.

Let's face it: good Ninja Turtles games are a dime a dozen. For every Turtle in Time, there's a movie cash-in lurking around the corner. While TMNT: Arcade Attack may not be the worst game out there, it's certainly not the best.

This game is definitely a nice change of pace from the standard World War II/sci-fi settings and until someone does it better, Bound in Blood is, in my opinion, the best Western-themed shooter around.

A much-needed and welcome reboot for the series, Prince of Persia integrates wonderfully fun acrobatics with often-tricky swordplay, presented in a beautiful new, cel-shaded art style; it's an excellent debut for the franchise on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

A die-hard Tenchu fan, Heather was more than happy to see the series return to form in its latest portable iteration. It may even move a hardened assassin to poetry...

Shaun White's Snowboarding is a fun, open-ended snowboarding simulation that allows you to ride different mountains, all the while catching big air and jibbing rails, trees and boxes.

In a surprising twist on par with hell freezing over the Wii receives the best version of a multi-platform title. Road Trip isn't a perfect ride down the virtual mountain, but it often nails the fun factor that the PS3 and 360 versions sometimes missed. Even better, it offers the best reason yet to blow that thick layer of dust off your balance board.

While the game's inherent charm is as strong as it ever was, repetitive games and dated visuals make TV Party an exercise in monotony.

EndWar is tense, fast-paced and deeply complex while maintaining a very logical and simple set of rules throughout. It's hard to imagine anyone ever making a better strategy game for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

This is a game for shooter fans that have been waiting for the genre to be dialled up to the next level. Its detailed presentation, feature-rich gameplay, and palpable sense of placing players in another world yield a bar-raising effort.

Stellar single player strategy and story in Hell's Highway make for the best (offline) World War II experience to date.

Red Steel sounds great in theory, but the execution leaves something to be desired. It's buggy and unevenly presented, which spoils what fun there is to be had. However, it did give me a taste of how FPS games can and will change on the Wii, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the genre will play out in the future.

It's good enough to keep your attention for a while but you'd probably be better off renting it for the weekend or waiting for it to drop into the bargain bin.

Monster 4x4 isn't a particularly deep title, but you'd have to be a fool to go into thinking that it would be. It's probably best as a weekend rental to blast through with your friends.

It's frankly the one to miss, unless you're stuck with just a Wii and a Sam Fisher fixation.
