When we first saw Dragon Age at E3, we walked away sceptical, grumbling at the rough graphics and odd focus on character interactions that bordered on high school level drama. Compared to the butter smooth E3 demo for Mass Effect 2, Dragon Age looked like it would end up being the black sheep of the family. Well, shame on us for doubting the wizards at BioWare: they worked their magic and turned that early demo into another must-have masterpiece. Deep and engaging, it's sure to please any RPG fan looking for a long and satisfying adventure. Even better, it will keep us all busy until Mass Effect 2 comes out in 2010.

Even though it doesn't boast the same brand of gritty realism as such racing heavyweights as Forza and Gran Turismo, Need for Speed: NITRO's ridiculously fun flair was more than enough to win us over.

Need for Speed is a spectacular racing series known for its high octane thrills. With the series' latest release of SHIFT, the popular franchise doesn't look to be slowing down any time soon.

Ouch. It looks like the EA machine stumbled a bit with NBA 10. While 2K's effort is getting raves, NBA 10 clocks in with a middling score. Hopefully, this motivates the dev team to go back to the drawing board and get their gameplan in order.

FIFA Soccer 10 is surefire winner all around. Fans of sports games definitely have to buy it, even if they don't have a strong interest in soccer--it's just that good.

Buy it. It's epic, it's innovative, and it's a total blast from beginning to end.

I normally hate video hockey games because I don't feel like it truly represents the sport of hockey. But I can't deny that NHL 09 was a fantastic game and it looks like NHL 10 might be even better. Sure, it's not an exact simulation but sometimes, you have to sacrifice some realism in the name of having fun and it looks like NHL 10 is fun personified. I'll be picking up a copy for sure.

I was never a big Madden fan but I know that it's an almost religious experience for devote gamers. Madden 10 looks like it's got a decent number of changes and tweaks that elevates it out of "glorified roster update" territory. It sounds like a must have for any digital football fanatic.

While I wasn't expecting too much from G.I. Joe as a whole, I walked away with the impression that, while it wasn't absolutely horrible, it really didn't leave much of a lasting impression either. I love mindless shoot-em-up gameplay as much as the next guy, but in this age of innovation (and certainly in this economy) you can't help but expect more bang for your buck.

As a long-time Wii Fit user, it was going to take some serious effort to knock that game out of my fitness regimen. EA Sports Active, however, was up to the task, providing better exercises with an excellent user interface. I've been using Active pretty consistently since it came out, and I can say without reservation that it's the best workout game on the market right now. If you've got a Wii and want to shed some weight, it's definitely worth purchasing.

Even with its faults this game is a great value. Other arcade titles with fun, solid gameplay, simple controls, and this many customisable features will run you between $15-$30, but lucky you, you get Battlefield Heroes for free.

While Kevin wasn't blown away by this year's NCAA installation, he still found it an incredibly enjoyable title with some deep new gameplay options, such as the customisable new TeamBuilder feature.

With satisfaction always within reach, Battlefield 1943 makes for an addictive online experience. It's a shooter that's made for cheapskates, not by them: you're essentially getting a triple-A title at a quarter of the price. Some of you might complain that it doesn't contain enough content but actually dive into the game and your worries will quickly disappear.

Unfortunately, the Half-Blood Prince falls victim to the common pitfalls of so many movie-to-game tie-ins before it.

Grand Slam's a great package, especially for those who've grown bored with Wii Sports's comparatively casual take on tennis. The Wii MotionPlus-assisted play is nearly pitch-perfect, the modes brimming with features, and the visuals — while the weakest aspect of the title — offer some cartoony charm. As a quality tennis title and an impressive showcase of Nintendo's new tech, EA's ambitious first effort easily takes the cup.
