Sony Ericsson's Yari mobile phone promises a lot but fails to deliver anything new, aside from gesture gaming. While this is a noteworthy feature, we really can't see mobile games taking off on such a small screen. What you're left with is a basic slider phone with a pretty good camera -- but we've seen it all too often before.

The Sony Ericsson Satio is an excellent camera phone with a great 3.5in screen, but its not a world-beater. The lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack and an inconsistent user interface detract from what otherwise is a good overall package.

Sony Ericsson's C903 Cyber-shot mobile phone will suit those looking for a basic phone with a good camera, but there is little else about this handset that will get you excited.

After almost a year of waiting, the XPERIA X1 has finally arrived. It's not the game changing handset that it looked like it would be when it was first announced, but the panel system has its merits and the display and design are first class. Unfortunately, laggy performance is an issue and it isn't cheap.

If you’re purely after a phone for imaging, then the C905 will be right up your alley. While we’re still waiting for optical zoom, the photos it produces are pretty noteworthy for a camera phone. An excellent design and good build quality are slightly let down by a somewhat sluggish user interface and a proprietary headphone jack.

The W760i is the first Walkman handset to be available on the Next G network. Although it doesn’t offer any outstanding features, the combination of a smooth design, excellent build quality and Sony Ericsson’s Walkman software makes this an excellent handset overall.

The C702 is one of the most feature-packed, rugged handsets we’ve reviewed. If build and call quality are of paramount concern, this is a great choice.

If you want a fully fledged GPS navigator, you are best off purchasing either a portable in-car unit or a handheld device with a larger screen. If you want to track your fitness data, then the HGE-100 may be worth a look.

The P1i is packed to the brim with features, and its only real downside is the unconventional keyboard, as well as an interface that will take some time to grasp. If you can get your head around each of them you're left with an excellent device on the whole.
