The Toshiba Satellite A500 (PSAM3A-03P00E) is a fully featured notebook that's perfect as a desktop replacement, and even as a media hub for your lounge room. It's big, so you won't want to lug it around with you, but it's stylish, so you will want to show it to your friends.

Toshiba's Satellite U500 is a great laptop that doesn't make any compromises when it comes to features and performance. It's also very well priced. Above all, it's comfortable to use, looks good and is solidly built. You can't go past it if you're looking for something small and usable for under $2000.

The Toshiba NB200 (PLL25A-00D002) is a little expensive, but it's well built, performed well in our tests, and has unique features such as hard drive protection and Sleep-and-Charge USB 2.0 — you can charge your iPhone while you're on the road! It's the nicest looking netbook on the market and it has a great keyboard. The only drawback is that it gets a little hot.

The Toshiba Portege R600 is the ultimate ultraportable laptop for a user who's constantly on the move. It's extremely light and strong, and it has a built-in optical drive and all the ports you're likely to require.

Although the Toshiba Satellite L300 (PSLB8A-0FM004) has a great price, good battery life and three USB 2.0 ports, its slow processor and lack of the fastest networking options mean that it has trouble competing with similarly priced notebooks from other vendors.

The Toshiba Portege M800 (PPM81A-08S01S) is a fast and portable notebook that has lots of expansion ports, but its Sakura Pink colour scheme draws a lot of attention. However, if you want a good 13.3in laptop and you don't mind the bright pink chassis, it is definitely worth considering.

If you're a business user who is after a fast yet light notebook and don't want to invest in a small ultraportable, the Toshiba Tecra R10 is ideal. Despite weighing only 1.9kg, it has a 14.1in screen, a built-in DVD burner and plenty of processing power for any type of office application.

The Toshiba Satellite A300 is comfortable to use, looks good, and has plenty of ports. It's performance was a little slow in our CPU tests, but overall it's a great laptop for the home or office.

The NB100 is a little overpriced, but it is a solid little unit with Sleep-and-Charge USB ports, which are very convenient while travelling. It could use more RAM and a solid-state drive; a version with Linux installed would be pretty sweet, too.

The Toshiba Tecra A10's excellent CPU is wasted thanks to a puny 1GB of RAM. If you want a decent machine with a sub-$1500 price tag, then this is a device worth considering — as long as you upgrade the memory.

The U400 is a good size for travellers, has plenty of connectivity and good speed, and it's also well priced, but its battery life is short.

It's fast and not overly expensive compared to other gaming laptops, but almost everyone who saw this thing commented on how ugly it looks. Take a look at the pics and judge for yourself.

The Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 is a unit that sits comfortably between the entry-level and mid-range notebook categories, featuring an excellent range of expansion ports and decent performance when balanced against its price tag. What lets it down is the dull design.

Toshiba’s Qosmio F50 is ideal for multimedia, but it is also well suited as an all-purpose notebook. If you can live with the glossy display, there is plenty to like about this unit and it has performance to match its looks.
