Admire the HP Envy 13 for its sleek looks, solid build quality and fast speed, but not its price tag.

Those of you with an eye for style will want to check out HP's Mini by Studio Tord Boontje. It features a very nice 3D pattern of flora and endangered animals on its lid, while on the inside it has all the components of a basic netbook. There couldn't be more of a contrast between the bog-standard netbook specifications and the extravagant styling, but there's no law that states simple netbooks can't look good, and the Mini by Studio Tord Boomtje definitely does look good!

A big screen, fast graphics and good hard drive performance are just some of the things to like about HP's first Windows 7-based netbook. It's a great unit for anyone who wants to view high-definition video content while on the go and it's comfortable enough to use for extended periods.

If netbooks are too small for you and regular 15in laptops are way too big, then the HP Pavilion dv2-1132AX could be just what you're looking for. It runs an AMD Athlon 64 X2 Neo CPU, has an HDMI port, and is perfect for office work as well as watching videos and editing photos.

The HP Mini 5101 feels more like a regular laptop than a netbook and this is because of its sturdy construction, relatively good speed and excellent keyboard design. Not only that, it looks good and it has a 1366x768 screen. There really isn't too much wrong with this netbook at all, and we think it's probably the best netbook currently available on the market.

Once we've completed our testing of the Mini 5101, we'll give you a full update and a final score. In the meantime, it's safe to say HP has succeeded in delivering a smarter netbook.

The HP mini 110 (NB-1006TU_09) is worth considering if you're after a very portable and relatively easy to use netbook; it looks good, too. You can also save some money by opting for the Linux version, which costs $499 and has a 16GB solid-state drive instead of a 160GB hard drive.

We like the looks, performance and user-friendliness of the HP ProBook 4510s Notebook PC (VA033PA), as well as its competitive price. We think it's a great choice for any business user (particularly an accountant) who wants something that isn't a typical, drab-looking business notebook.

If you're looking for a stylish notebook to replace your space-hogging PC, the HP Pavilion dv7 2022tx is a good choice. It looks good, it's comfortable to use, it performed well in our tests, and has a lot of connectivity options.

The HP TouchSmart tx2-1000 Notebook PC is a good buy if you're a home user after a tablet PC. Its handwriting recognition is almost perfect, and it's comfortable to hold in the tablet position. We just wish it had a better mobile CPU and longer battery life.

Small, strong and well-featured, HP's EliteBook 2530p is an ideal choice for business users who want something that will withstand the rigours of travel and last a long time away from a power outlet.

If you need a netbook that's almost as fully featured as a regular notebook, the HP Mini 2140 is hard to ignore. It's aimed at business users, but at $1099 it's the perfect ultraportable netbook for anyone who wants faster networking features, a faster hard drive and more RAM than a typical netbook. We just wish its touchpad was better.

This netbook is all about making a fashion statement. It has a few shortcomings in its feature set, but if you can overlook those you'll be blessed with a good looking and easy-to-use ultraportable computer.

Our overall opinion of the HP Mini 1001TU is that while it looks good, it's underdone. It needs a better battery, one more USB 2.0 port, a D-Sub port, and faster wireless networking — at least — considering its high price.
