The tiny 10.2in ASUS Eee PC S101H netbook makes a fashion statement without resorting floral designs or a blaze of red colouring; it's a champagne-coloured notebook with chrome along the sides and on the hinge, and it has graphite-styled keys. It def...
With its silver-coloured magnesium body and thin LED-based screen, the Toshiba Tecra R10 (PTRB3A-001002) is reminiscent of the ultraportable Portege. It's not an altogether out of whack comparison, as the Tecra R10 is very light and slim for a 14.1in...
With its burgundy palm rest and lid, the Acer Aspire One AOD150 looks nice; not too flashy and not too dull. It has a good number of features, and it also has the best screen we have ever seen in a netbook, so it gets by on much more than just its go...
HP's Vivienne Tam Special Edition Notebook PC is an in-your-face netbook that has one main virtue: chicks dig it. They love the colour, the floral design, the carry pouch, the small size of the unit and the big keys. Do guys dig it? Not so much. But ...
A smart netbook that not only gets the design right -- and it's priced to move.
The Toshiba Satellite A300 (PSAGCA-09Y01N) is almost the perfect laptop for home users. It looks good, has a big screen, is comfortable to use, and contains a large array of ports. It's also not a heavy laptop; considering it has a 15.4in screen, its...
Joining the Inspiron Mini 9 is the Dell Inspiron Mini 12: boasting a much larger display than its baby brother, it still manages to remain less than 1.1in thick and under 1.3kg in weight. If you are looking for a netbook but don't want a cramped keyp...
For many years ThinkPad notebooks have been the benchmark by which other notebooks have been measured, purely because they are so well engineered and sturdy. If you don't have a need for speed and don't care that your laptop isn't available in five s...
The Lenovo ThinkPad SL500 274634M is an all-purpose 15.4in laptop with plenty of grunt, a wide variety of connections and good usability. Just make sure you're happy with Lenovo's changes to the traditional ThinkPad style.
The Dell Studio XPS 13 is a 13.3in notebook that is ideal for travellers, home users and even business users who want something stylish and affordable. It's small, light (2.2kg) and relatively thin. Its latch-less screen and illuminated keyboard are ...

HP's Mini 1001TU is a netbook with plenty of style; it's black and it has a 10.2in glossy screen and a swirly pattern on its lid. It has an Intel Atom N270 CPU and runs the Windows XP operating system, and it has plenty of storage space for work file...

First impression on unpacking the Q702 test unit was the solid feel and clean, minimalist styling.
For work use, Microsoft Word and Excel programs pre-installed on the device are adequate for preparing short documents.
The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.
The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.
My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
