When it comes to gaming performance for your dollar, the ATI Radeon HD 4870 is currently unmatched. If that's not enough reason to snap this card up, we don't know what is.

While the 5870 is all about showcasing innovation, the Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 1GB also boasts plenty of power, with many of the same features. The clincher, though, is the price.

Sapphire's Radeon HD4870 offers an impressive amount of graphics power at a modest price, and while it won't appeal to the power gamer, it's more than enough for most users.

ATI's brand new Radeon HD5870 is one of the most powerful graphics cards on the market. It out-performs the last generation models in all of our tests, and it even edges out NVIDIA's GTX295 in some benchmarks too. Best of all, it does this while only consuming slightly more power at full load than last generation’s graphics cards.

It's been a long wait but we're very happy with the results of ATI's new graphics chip so far. Although it's not up to the challenge of NVIDIA's GTX or Ultra cards, there's potential for a promising high-end version in the future. Until then, the Asus HD 2900 XT is an excellent value-for-money card.

This is by far the hottest card on the market and will continue to do the job well into the future. If you want the best performance then this is the card to get.

Some of the best value for money available, it can run most modern games quite comfortably without denting the bank balance.

There's no doubt this is the best card on the market. Every feature is leaps and bounds ahead of the competition from ATI, at least until they release their own DirectX 10 capable card, the R600. The real question is whether to buy this card, or wait until competition brings the prices down and game developers actually start making games that utilise the new improved features.

It's the most powerful card on the market and trumps its closest competitors, but it's also the most expensive. If you want the best frame rate possible from a single card though, this is the one to buy.

The Radeon HD2900XT has been a long time coming and in our eyes, it was well worth the wait. This card offers everything the competition offers and a touch more. Unfortunately we were unable to test DirectX 10 games this time, but we expect to see some promising results.

A great performer for the cost, definitely one to look out for if you want bang for your buck.

An excellent single-card SLI option with a tonne of rendering power up its sleeve. The potential for quad-SLI is mouth watering, and the single-card SLI design means space savings for cramped PC cases.

For mid-range gaming, the P860 is a fast choice. It won't produce super-smooth frame rates in the latest games, but it will produce playable frame rates in most games, and those frame rates will still be better than what most competing 8600 GT-based cards can achieve.
