Even though it has two tuners, this card falls short of pleasing because they are not well implemented and the supplied software is frustrating to use.

Software imperfections aside, the E800 is a functional card with good hybrid functionality, and it can boot up your PC to initiate a recording.

Users who want to watch digital TV on their PC, as well as record from analogue devices, will be well served by this card. However, its software isn't perfect and picture quality was a little flat.

The inexpensive Compro VideoMate E700 delivers the digital AV goods with aplomb - given a decent aerial it will display good quality standard definition images. Although the comprehensively featured ComproDTV 3.0 software isn't bad, an MCE-style user interface would be more convenient for ordinary TV viewing.

All up, the U2700 is a suitable device for watching digital TV on a desktop PC or a notebook, but high definition content will only be viewable on a notebook if it has a powerful CPU. We like this tuner's features, but its software could be improved.

Its software interface does have a few quirks, but the digital TV quality of this card was very good and we love that it lets us burn programs directly on to DVDs. It's definitely worth considering if you're in the market for a new digital tuner, especially one that has plenty recording features.

The U500 is a neat little device that does what it's supposed to and it won't cost you too much. Buy it if you want a device that you can easily plug in to multiple PCs or notebooks. It did struggle to find channels in one of our test locations where the TV signal is weak, so if you're in an area where your current reception is not up to scratch, then this unit may not perform as expected.

Despite some quirks during timeshifting and the slow channel changing, the DVB-T200A is a versatile card and is well worth considering, especially for a Windows MCE 2005 machine.
