The printer has five individual ink tanks — including two black cartridges — and prints at a resolution up to 9600x2400 dots per inch (dpi). Canon claims it can print at speeds up to 9.2 pages per minute (ppm) for monochrome documents and 8.1ppm for colour. The iP4700 connects to computer via USB 2.0, and can print directly onto compatible CDs and DVDs. Pricing is yet to be confirmed.
