JVC Everio GZ-X900

Price: $1999 (with $450 of extras)

The JVC Everio GZ-X900 is a feature-packed Full HD camcorder that records to removable flash memory. In addition to offering 1080p recording, the GZ-X900 boasts a clever Upload feature for creating and transferring video clips to your YouTube account in just a couple of steps. JVC is offering a special deal between 1 October and 31 January: The HD Everio Extras Pack includes a JVC NX-PN10 iPod Dock and additional one year camcorder warranty (total two years) — that’s $450 worth of goodies, completely free! (Well, apart from a $20 freight charge).

To claim your Extras Pack, all you need to do is fill in the proof-of-purchase claims form for your GZ-X900. The Extras Pack can also be claimed if you bought a JVC Everio GZ-HM200B, GZ-HD300S, GZ-HD300R GZ-HD320B or GZ-HM400.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
