Back-to-school printer bargains

We look at the best and cheapest printers for the back-to-school season

Brother HL-2140 mono laser printer

Price: $92 (Save $57)

Though inkjet printers and multifunctions are useful for printing off photos, they can become costly when it comes to consumables, and document print quality isn't always fantastic. Since high school and university students are likely to print off text documents most of the time anyway, it may be worthwhile purchasing a mono laser as a secondary printer. They're not that expensive either — Brother's HL-2140 is currently available for $92 from both Umart in Queensland and ITSky in NSW. With toners lasting 1500 pages, you won't need to worry about getting more consumables in a hurry.
