Impulse buy printers are a tricky business: they may cost less than a tank of fuel, but consumables are likely to cost as much as, if not more than, the printer itself. Still, if you're stuck without a printer the night before that big assessment is due, Canon's PIXMA MP250 might just be what you need. Like the entry-level PIXMA MP490, it's cheap and quite slow, but it will print documents and the odd photo without fuss. You can pick up the inkjet multifunction from Officeworks for $59.
