Samsung R580 notebook

Price: $1152.60

Samsung's R580 is a desktop replacement laptop that's very well built, feels good to use, and is very fast as it uses a Core i5-520M CPU. You can use it for just about any task except serious gaming. Despite being so big, it's not overly heavy and you can carry it in a backpack without much trouble at all. Techbuy currently has the 15.6in version of the R580 for $1152.60, which is $146 lower than the price of the 16in model we reviewed.

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
