Top 10 scene-stealing video game villains
We rate the biggest show-stealing villains in gaming
In pictures: the most badass video game villains
Sometimes, it's good to be bad.
It's no secret that villains have all the fun. They get the best lines, wear the coolest outfits and frequently laugh in an uproarious manner.
By contrast, most heroes are a bit, well... lame. Take Star Wars, for example. If Darth Vader was distilled into a liquid, he’d be a Jagerbomb mixed with rocket fuel and Megan Fox’s sweat. If Luke Skywalker was distilled into a liquid, he’d be dishwater mixed with dishwater -- which guy would you rather be?
Unfortunately, most video games place you in the goody-two-shoes of the hero. While it’s true that some games let you make "naughty" choices for that bad-boy edge (think Mass Effect), you still inevitably end up saving the world from destruction or something equally tedious. Usually, the only thing that seperates a hero from an anti-hero is a grumpy scowl instead of a noble stare. (You aren’t fooling anyone, Mr. Fenix. Now put that bandana away.)
But just because you have to play as the hero doesn’t mean we have to like it.
To pay homage to sweet, sweet tyranny, we're counting down the top ten scene-stealing villains of all time. These are the guys that completely stole the show, and owned the games they appeared in. They're the enemies we wish we were controlling; even as our hapless hero endeavored to defeat them...
