Motorola DEXT smartphone

Price: $0 on Optus' 'yes' social plan over 24 months

After a long hiatus in Australia, Motorola is aiming to hit back with a bang. The Motorola DEXT is an Android-powered, touch-screen smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard. It features MotoBlur software, which aims to unify social-networking communications on the home screen. Though it isn't perfect, the DEXT should be a real hit at this price point, especially with teenagers. Optus is currently selling the Motorola DEXT smartphone for $0 upfront on its 'yes' social plan, which will set you back $49 per month over 24 months. This plan includes 500MB of data and unlimited access to Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and MySpace!

LIFEBOOK UH574

The Fujitsu LifeBook UH574 allowed for great mobility without being obnoxiously heavy or clunky. Its twelve hours of battery life did not disappoint.

STYLISTIC Q702

The screen was particularly good. It is bright and visible from most angles, however heat is an issue, particularly around the Windows button on the front, and on the back where the battery housing is located.

STYLISTIC Q702

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
