The disc Stanley Kubrick’s sprawling space saga has never looked better than it does on Blu-ray. For those weaned on the VHS or DVD editions, this 1080p/VC-1 transfer will come as a revelation – it’s like going from the Stone Age to the Space Age in one masterful jump-cut. Every trick in the trade has been used to make 2001: A Space Odyssey look the best it possibly can.
