Star Wars hits a new generation of consoles in 2001 with prequel-trilogy games Obi-Wan (Xbox) and Starfighter (PlayStation 2, Xbox, PC). LucasArts joins the kart-racing craze with Super Bombad Racing (PS2). Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader (GC) continues to set the standard for starfighter sims on consoles. Galactic Battlegrounds, a PC RTS based on the Age of Empires engine, also debuts.
