HP's Envy 14 Beats Edition notebook gets its name and styling from the Monster Beats range of headphones, and specifically, Beats by Dr Dre. Not only does it sport the Beats logo and black and red styling, it also ships with a pair of Beats by Dr Dre Solo headphones.

The notebook itself is based on an Intel Core i7-720QM CPU, has 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics, and a 640GB hard drive. The focus of the notebook is more on style than outright performance, but it can hold its own when used for tasks such as photo, video and audio editing.

You get a brushed aluminium finish, a glossy 14in screen, a huge touchpad and, best of all, a red-backlit keyboard that just makes you want to continue typing forever.

With a price tag of $2299, it costs a lot, relatively speaking. But if you can afford it and you're the type who wants to stand out from the crowd with a great looking and well-featured 14in notebook -- let's face it, a Mac isn't the way to do that these days -- then the Envy Beats Edition is perfect.

The Envy ships in an impressive package (which should be expected for a notebook that has a price north of $2000), which includes the Beats by Dre Solo headphones, as well as an SD card instead of a support CD.
