We give Panasonic's compact Micro Four Thirds LUMIX DMC-GX1 camera a brief test run in Sydney

The body feels very solid in the hand. It has a rangefinder design that's a little reminiscent of the film cameras of old. The GX1 will be available in December. It will cost $899 for the body only; $999 in a kit with a 14-42mm lens; $1199 in a kit with a new 14-42mm Power Zoom lens.
