In Pictures: Microsoft. Purges, personalities, ‘pursuing other opportunities’

Peter Klein In a move that seems to self-motivated, CFO Peter Klein decided to “step away” from Microsoft at the June 30 end of its fiscal year. He worked for 11 years at the company, acting as CFO for most of the last four. He says he wants to spend more time with his extended family. CEO Steve Ballmer, in announcing Klein’s departure, issued no cryptic messages about ulterior motives. “I have really enjoyed working with Peter, and appreciate his many contributions to the finance organization, to Microsoft and to me,” Ballmer wrote in an email to the company’s workers.

My first impression after unboxing the Q702 is that it is a nice looking unit. Styling is somewhat minimalist but very effective. The tablet part, once detached, has a nice weight, and no buttons or switches are located in awkward or intrusive positions.
