Acer ramps up its commitment to selling more Chromebooks On Aug. 8, Acer announced it would expand Chromebook offerings in the near future because of how well their current model, the $199 C7, has been selling. This was an unexpected public statement of support for the Chromebook/Chrome OS platform, coming from the world’s fourth-largest maker of personal computers.
