PC World's most popular smartphones are a rank of the top 10 phones based on site traffic leading up to January 2012.
The first list of 2012 sees a shift in popularity: Samsung's Galaxy Nexus and Galaxy Note dominate the list, a stark contrast to previous months where the most popular smartphones were low priced budget handsets.
The Huawei duo of the Sonic and the IDEOS X3, along with the Samsung Galaxy Ace are the only three "budget" smartphones to feature in our January list. Interestingly, Nokia's N9 is the only non-Android phone to make the cut.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is without a doubt the best Android phone on the market right now and the best Android phone that's ever been released. The camera could use a boost in quality, the low speaker volume is annoying ...
The Samsung Galaxy Note is an interesting device that’s been designed as an all-in-one smartphone and tablet. Whether it holds any appeal will depend on you getting your head (and hands) around its mammoth size. If you’re comfortable with the ...
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc S is basically the XPERIA Arc with a faster processor, slightly upgraded software and an 'S' tagged onto the end of its name. It remains a good phone but its plagued by the same issues ...
The Samsung Galaxy Ace offers a slick user experience and a comfortable design. However, it is comparatively overpriced compared to some of its rivals. We definitely recommend shopping around before choosing the Galaxy Ace as your next phone.
If you can live with its large size and sometimes awkward feel, the Motorola RAZR is one of the best Android smartphones released this year. It combines a brilliant and vibrant screen in a unique frame, and tops off the ...
The Nokia N9 is the best looking and slickest smartphone Nokia has ever built. It's a combination of superbly built hardware and slick, easy to use, elegant software. However, it's priced too high to compete with iOS and Android alternatives ...
The Huawei IDEOS X3 naturally makes plenty of compromises to deliver on its $99 price. The screen feels sticky to swipe and isn't always smooth, the glossy coating makes it reflective under light and the keyboard is tiny. Despite these ...
The HTC Sensation XE is by no means a bad Android phone, but none of its features blew us away. We love the red and black design and the urBeats headphones are a nice inclusion, but average battery life and ...
The HTC Velocity 4G is definitely the fastest phone on the Australian market, even when you're outside of a 4G coverage zone. However, we don't feel the speed increase is significant enough to warrant choosing it over some of its ...
The Huawei Sonic provides a reasonable features list for quite a low price. As long as you can live with its limitations, such as the lack of Flash and a poor camera, it's very hard to beat for value.
