It might be heavier and noisier than the Infocus IN1102, but the IN1503 is easily more versatile. It has an impressively high contrast ratio and brightness, making it equally at home displaying high-definition movies and business presentations.

If you need a projector that can display a large image from a short distance away, ViewSonic’s PJD5351 is a great choice. Its fixed focal length means there’s no zoom capability, but its other specifications make it an good choice.

This latest-generation DLP projector may be addressed to professional business movers who need a portable and high-quality solution, but it’s image quality stands above expectation, making it suitable for home cinema use. Quieter than older projectors, and with its versatile USB video input, the InFocus IN3106 comes highly recommended.

If you have the ability to mount the InFocus IN3108 projector in an out-of-the-way space, it’s a great addition to a board room. In darker rooms it offers good contrast, sharpness and brightness.

As an entry level home theatre projector, the InFocus X9 impressed us. Its small size means that it is easily portable for showing off to your friends, while its high brightness and good colour accuracy means it is versatile enough to be used in a variety of locations.

Epson’s EH-TW3000 Full HD 1080p home theatre projector is a great all-round model. It costs less than $3000 and it performs almost as well as models costing significantly more.

If you can look past the outdated specifications, the InFocus X10 is a fantastic projector. For a low price you get a high quality Full HD 1080p image that is vibrant and sharp. The X10's downsides are only minor in our opinion.

We like the Epson EH-TW5000. It has a few niggling problems but overall its output is of a very high standard.
