If wireless coverage is poor in your dwelling, these Ethernet-over-power-line adapters might just do the trick. They're a relatively neat wired networking solution, which takes advantage of electrical wires to deliver networking connectivity anywhere an outlet is available.

Implementing high security on your PC doesn't have to be hard, and BullGuard's Internet Security Suite 8.0 proves it. It's an unobtrusive program that's simple to install and use, yet it has plenty of customisable features to keep advanced users happy, too.

With a firmware update to support 802.11n-only mode and better throughput, along with a modest price cut, the N1 Vision would be almost 20-20.

Overall, it's easy to set-up and it produced fast wireless results in our tests. If you're after a new wireless router with draft-n capability, the DIR-615 is a relatively inexpensive option.

The range of tools and the high level of protection offered by McAfee Total Protection 2008 is impressive -- it has powerful antivirus and very good spam protection. The parental controls and SiteAdvisor+ are excellent. It's also easy to use. However, at $129.95 it's a fairly expensive proposition, so you'll need to be sure you're going to use most of its features.

There are utility bundles and there are utility bundles, but BitDefender Total Security 2008 is definitely up there with the best of them. If you want high levels of security, excellent ease of use plus great VFM you should definitely try BitDefender Total Security 2008 -- or at the very least the 30-day trial version. You won't be disappointed.

In the end, Grisoft AVG Antispyware 7.5 is a pretty solid program with the strongest signature database we tested, but it falls short in behaviour-based protection against unknown threats.

For desperate and network-less users, Netgear's HDXB101 is a realistic alternative, especially in situations where a wireless network is unreliable. It will deliver enough speed for streaming multimedia applications and it's very easy to set up and use.

All up, we didn't have to fiddle with this router's settings at all, apart from entering our Internet and wireless connectivity details. It distributed our Internet connection and streamed multimedia files to various wireless clients without any problems, and its speeds were admirable during our tests. For users who need a new wireless router for the home, or even for a small office, this one is worth considering.
