Users simply plug camera card straight into printer for fast, easy prints

SYDNEY, 18 August 2003 – Lexmark International has announced the Lexmark P707 photo printer – specifically designed for digital photographers to create prints that rival photo lab quality. The Lexmark P707 offers 4800 dpi with the addition of on-board camera card readers to further simplify the digital photo printing experience. The Lexmark P707 also includes integrated driver software with ‘red-eye’ reduction, colour manipulating and photo sizing, bringing professional photo printing abilities to home digital camera users.

Printing images from digital cameras will look more true to life when using the Lexmark P707 with its standard print six-colour capabilities, skin tones will appear smoother and colours more vivid.

In addition, the Lexmark P707 can print borderless photos that look just like traditional photographs in all sizes up to an A4. This gives users the flexibility to modify and enhance their photos while saving on the costs of professional photo enlargements.

“Digital photography has given consumers new ways to capture, share, store, and print images, which is why the trend has taken off so rapidly across Asia. Lexmark is eager to provide users with easier and more efficient ways to print their images,” said Stephen Waugh, General Manager, Consumer and Small Business, Lexmark Australia and New Zealand.

“With the emphasis on enhanced photo quality, ease-of-use, speed and cost savings, consumers can enjoy an easy, fast way to print professional-looking photos with the Lexmark P707 photo printer.”

With fast printing speed of 17 ppm in mono and 10 ppm in colour, the Lexmark P707 is quick and easy to set up and includes the Accu-Feed™ paper handling system to virtually eliminate paper jams.

In addition, the Lexmark P707 includes an input tray for up to 100 sheets of paper, and accepts a wide range of media including plain, inkjet and photo paper, transparencies, labels, envelopes, index cards, greeting cards, banners and iron-on transfers.

Priced at $199 inc GST, the Lexmark P707 photo printer is compatible with operating systems including Mac and Windows, and is connected via a USB 2.0 full speed cable. The Lexmark P707 comes with a one-year LexExpress warranty and is available immediately from Lexmark Authorised Resellers.

Lexmark offers a simple and efficient way of servicing all inkjet and low-end laser products. LexExpress is an alternative to the traditional customer carry-in service for inkjet printers under warranty. This service covers all major and minor towns, including remote country locations in Australia.

LexExpress staff resolve more than 40 per cent of all printer problems over the phone, saving time and inconvenience to customers. Should the printer require service, customers can then select the level of service that best fits their needs.
