Sydney, Australia, 24 August 2004 Hewlett-Packard (HP) today announced the release of a new EVA (Enterprise Virtual Array) bundle which is designed for small to medium businesses (SMB) and made available exclusively through its value distribution partners.

The HP StorageWorks EVA SMB Business Bundle will benefit businesses looking to consolidate their storage infrastructure by driving down the initial total solution cost and virtually eliminating the need to custom build solutions from scratch.

HP will also drive all existing EVA3000 solutions, exclusively through its 3,500 strong channel which provide customers in the small, medium and enterprise market with local support and expertise, combined with a trusted technology brand.

Without the need to spend large amounts of time managing storage infrastructure, customers installing the EVA SMB Business Bundle will be better equipped to focus on driving their business needs and less on their IT infrastructure. The solution also provides customers looking to switch to SAN (Storage Area Network) with a cost effective and simple migration path.

“The move to SAN based storage has previously been considered complex and costly, however, HP’s StorageWorks EVA SMB Business Bundle solution removes these concerns by providing a cost effective SAN solution which is easy to install, provides better disk utilisation and management, and is scalable without down-time,” said Mark Nielsen, Product Marketing Manager-Storage, HP.

“With the introduction of the EVA SMB Business Bundle and the channel’s exclusive access to the EVA3000, it is clear that HP is committed to leveraging the strong customer relationships and solution selling capabilities that our channel partners provide in delivering solutions into the SMB/SME marketplace,” added Nielsen.

The new EVA SMB Business Bundle is available immediately.
