Growing Altiris appoints new regional marketing manager

<p>SYDNEY – March 23, 2004 – Altiris, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATRS), a pioneer of IT lifecycle management solutions that reduce the total cost of IT resources, today announced the appointment of Simon Higgins, as Regional Marketing Manager, Altiris Asia Pacific.</p>
<p>In this newly created position, Higgins will be responsible for marketing and programs throughout the region.</p>
<p>Prior to joining Altiris, Higgins worked for Novell for four (4) years in both technical and sales roles. His most recent position was as the Australian and New Zealand Business Development Manager for Novell’s ZENworks. He was also the Asia Pacific representative on the ZENworks global solution management team.</p>
<p>“The creation of this new marketing position is testament to the success and growth we experienced during 2003 and 2002 in the Asia Pacific region,” said Geoff Masters, Vice- President, Altiris Asia Pacific. Simon’s appointment brings a lot of experience in this market sector to Altiris. We aim to leverage that experience through the implementation of effective marketing programs for our partners and to expand the Altiris business in this region,” added Masters.</p>
<p>“I am delighted to be joining Altiris at such an exciting time in their development; they are young, nimble and growing, said Higgins. “Managing the cost of IT is still the number one priority for IT Managers and CIOs and I am confident that Altiris has the right solutions to help IT managers and CIOs ease their (IT manageability) pain.”</p>
<p>Simon began his career in England as a Network Engineer with Research Machines PLC working within the UK education market.</p>
<p>From there, he joined worldwide leading advertising agency, Young &amp; Rubicam,
(Y &amp; R). Based at their European head office in London, Simon had the responsibility of meeting the IT business needs of the organisation and its subsidiary companies; Burson Marsteller, Wunderman Cato Johnson, Landor Associates and Cohn &amp; Wolfe. These separate companies shared the one common network infrastructure and business applications making it one of the largest corporate networks in the world. Upon leaving Y &amp; R, Simon was the European Network Operations Manager.</p>
<p>In 1998, Simon achieved one of his lifetime ambitions by relocating his family to Australia thus enabling him to not only further his IT career but continue his love affair with Formula One racing, his favourite out of work pastime.
As well as his interest in Grand Prix racing, Simon also enjoys following and supporting rugby union and playing his guitar.</p>
<p>Simon will be based in the Sydney regional headquarters of Altiris, which also serves as a regional R &amp; D hub for Altiris, employing more than 40 of Australia’s best software developers.</p>
