Fortinet Appoints Leigh Costin As Director, Product Marketing For Asia Pacific Region

~ Fortinet Strengthens Regional Operation With 20-Year Industry Veteran ~

SYDNEY Australia, March 25, 2004 -- Fortinet, the only provider of ASIC-powered, network-based antivirus firewall systems for real-time network protection, today announced the appointment of Leigh Costin as Director, Product Marketing, Asia Pacific, a Sydney-based role in which he will assume responsibility for business development, product marketing and overall product lifecycle management.

Previously employed by Symantec in regional product manager roles covering the company's enterprise antivirus and firewall gateway security appliances, Costin is a 20-year industry veteran whose extensive experience covers the telecommunications and finance industries. He has held a variety of roles on major network and communications projects across the region.

"Many Asian businesses are growing up 'wired'," said Costin. "They are young businesses, growing quickly. And they are aware that security is not something you can think about as one element of technology infrastructure. Instead, they want security to be embedded in the products they acquire, not bolted on afterwards. Fortinet appeals to this sensibility because it offers a complete package.

"My key goal will be to grow Fortinet across the region by tapping into user demands for real-time protection, while showing channel partners that Fortinet is the easiest to sell integrated solution for the corporate gateway security market."

Costin will report directly to Matt Young, Fortinet Inc.'s Vice President & General Manager, Asia Pacific, who said his experience and record of achievement makes for an ideal appointment. "Leigh brings an extensive skill set in product marketing and development to the Fortinet APAC team," Young said. "His extensive experience in launching security products into new markets throughout Asia Pacific is a welcome addition to Fortinet."

Fortinet's award-winning FortiGate(tm) series of ASIC-accelerated antivirus firewalls are the new generation of real-time network protection systems. They detect and eliminate the most damaging, content-based threats from email and Web traffic such as viruses, worms, intrusions, inappropriate Web content and more in real time -- without degrading network performance. FortiGate systems, the only quadruple-certified by ICSA (antivirus, firewall, intrusion detection, IPSec) also deliver a full range of network level services -- including firewall, VPN and traffic shaping -- in addition application level services in integrated, easily managed platforms. Fortinet is privately held and based in Sunnyvale, California.
