WPG-1000 Wireless Projector Server

This compact device is a great tool for presentations on the go. It’s a small server that can be connected to a projector to view image slide shows, PowerPoint presentations or video, and controlled using the bundled remote. The ability to make the server accessible to anyone on a wired or wireless LAN is this device’s strong point, meaning multiple users can view or take part in the presentation.

The server is made of fire-resistant plastic, weighs approximately 400g and measures 208x144x33mm (WxDxH). It features ports at the rear of the unit for connection of VGA, 10/100Mbps RJ-45, PS/2 and USB 1.0. A power button and factory reset switch are also located at the rear, and LEDs displaying device activity (power, ready, LAN and WLAN link) are on the top of the unit. The WPG-1000 supports the 802.11b and 802.11g Wi-Fi standards, and 128-bit WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) encryption. The in-built antenna has an indoor range of 25m. The device can be programmed to add or deny users access to the stored files on the network.

The WPG-1000 natively supports files for Windows Media Player, Real Player and QuickTime. If connection to a network or PC is not available, files can be uploaded and stored on the 64MB of flash memory within the server itself.

Setup and configuration was plug-and-play simple. Once connected to a network, the server automatically assigns a network address and parameters taken directly from the DHCP service on the network.

The WPG-1000 is very easy to install, set up and maintain. A definite aid for sales people or business users who are constantly on the road, this device would make presentations run seamlessly.

In brief: LevelOne WPG-1000 Wireless Projector Server
The WPG-1000 is a presentation tool that is ideal for both the corporate user and road warrior; a little pricey, but it’s easily configurable and maintainable.
