<p>e-nable Solutions, a leading Australian provider of innovative solutions for mobile handheld devices, has announced the release of e-nable Your Field Service™ (eYFS) - its latest application for the mobile service world.</p>
<p>Initially developed for field service and remote workforces such as tradespeople, mobile maintenance or repair personnel, eYFS seamlessly integrates with multiple disparate legacy systems, such as existing proprietary ERP or service and finance systems, providing a single 'common' front end that shares real time information with the user and the organisation. The net effect is a reduction in internal costs and the creation of ongoing efficiencies in managing an organisation’s workflow.</p>
<p>Paul Starr, e-nable Solutions Managing Director, said, “The Australian mobile workforce is forecast to grow to more than three million by 2006, yet for many organisations, the process of scheduling and managing jobs for this workforce has been an entirely manual and resource intensive process that has undergone little in the way of automation. Australian engineered and developed, eYFS provides a simple, yet extremely flexible way to manage the entire process - from start to finish, in real time from both office and field.”</p>
<p>In the field, the eYFS client (a ‘low footprint’ optimised J2ME™ runtime for mobile phones and PDAs) provides the workforce with visibility of the job details, spare parts inventory, work instructions and any other relevant information for the work or job order. Once on-site, the workforce records information about work undertaken such as cause and remedy information or parts used in the job. Changes to job status and time spent are tracked automatically and immediately visible to the central office. This occurs in real time using the embedded TCP/IP socket supporting GPRS or CDMA connectivity provided by carriers such as Vodafone, Telstra or Optus. Local data caching allows the user to still have full use of the device even when out of range of the wireless service provider. eYFS will then auto-synchronise once network coverage becomes available.</p>
<p>Once the job or activity is complete, settlement functionality is provided and signatures and credit card payment details can be electronically captured, confirming proof of works completed.</p>
<p>Moreover, e-nable is offering its new solution on an operating lease or rental basis to enable the adoption of the time saving solution by all interested organisations that have an active mobile workforce.</p>
