Destiny and JJJ Projects Take Field Service Reports into the Digital Age

<p>Sydney, 2 August 2004 - JJJ Projects has chosen Destiny Wireless’s Digital Pen and Paper (DP&amp;P) technology using Anoto® Functionality for the transmission of reports completed in the field by Service Engineers to their Service Head Quarters. Digital Pen and Paper will be used to complete paper based field service reports and with one tick of a box the entire report will be transmitted back to Service HQ in real time!</p>
<p>The Digital Pen, using Anoto Functionality, works like any normal pen but enables the user to send, by email, anything they write or draw. The Digital Pen houses a sophisticated array of technology developed by Anoto® in Sweden that includes; an infrared camera, an image processor and a wireless Bluetooth™ transceiver. These components work together with the Anoto® pattern, a series of nearly invisible dots printed on ordinary paper or forms.</p>
<p>JJJ Projects’ 12 Field Service Engineers (FSE) complete 10 service calls each per day repairing appliances. Prior to using Digital Pens, the FSE would complete their task, fill in a service report and then phone in to the service desk to provide the details of the customer call. Using the pen, the FSE simply completes the report as normal and then ticks the send box, which tells the pen to send the report back to the office. Within thirty seconds the service HQ has a copy of the FSE’s report.</p>
<p>Destiny™ and JJJ Projects identified that the implementation of the Digital Pen and Paper technology would save 120 phone calls a day and the associated call costs, enabling the FSE to get straight on to the next call without spending time dictating to the service HQ. In addition, the service HQ staff would no longer have to sit and wait for calls which inevitably all come at the same time causing FSE’s to “hold” until HQ service staff become available. The solution has streamlined field to office communications and increased productivity and is projected to give JJJ financial payback from the initial investment within three months.</p>

These guys are paid to fix things not to deal with paperwork and they can see the benefits to themselves and the company. Destiny offered us a way to achieve this without the need to change the existing reporting methods, and with minimal retraining. In fact we were up and running in within two weeks of our first meeting with Destiny.”</p>
