<p>-MapInfo Expands Local and Regional Teams To Meet Customer Demand-</p>
<p>SYDNEY – 9 March 2004 — MapInfo Corporation, the leading provider of location-intelligence solutions, today announced a number of significant appointments across the region that meet customer demand and further cement its strong position in Asia Pacific.</p>
<p>The recent appointments include: Yik-Chuan Tan as sales engineer for South East Asia, Peter Corlett as sales engineer for Southern Region, Australia and Marc Furze as account manager, Public Sector, Canberra. Nigel Lester has also been promoted to sales director for South East Asia.</p>
<p>“As the growth of geographic information systems (GIS) and location based solutions continues, these appointments will help us align our company to best meet the needs of our diverse customer range and channel partners throughout the region,” said Brian Cartwright, general manager of MapInfo Asia Pacific.</p>
<p>“Nigel, Yik-Chuan, Peter and Marc bring substantial experience and understanding of enterprise-level, technology-driven solutions. Over the past few years, MapInfo has evolved to provide complete enterprise-wide solutions and the collective experience of this team will be an enormous asset to MapInfo,” he added.</p>
<p>With eight years of IT consulting and engineering experience at companies such as Informix, Manugistics and Hypercom, Yik-Chuan Tan will be responsible for providing technical expertise and advice on MapInfo’s solutions to business partners and customers throughout South East Asia.</p>
<p>As the sales engineer for Southern Region, Australia, Peter Corlett will be responsible for developing prototype applications to showcase the functionality of MapInfo products and technology as well as provide training and support to MapInfo customers and partners. Marc Furze is responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with existing and potential customers within State and Federal Government in Canberra.</p>
<p>As the MapInfo sales director for South East Asia, Nigel Lester is responsible for establishing and expanding MapInfo’s business across the region including the management of channel sales. Previously MapInfo’s sales engineer for Southern Region, Nigel brings eight years of experience in the application and development of GIS in a variety of areas.</p>
