VERITAS Launches Managed Service Provider Partner Program (MSPP)

SYDNEY, Australia - March 29, 2005 – Based on extensive customer feedback and a thorough review of the market, VERITAS Software has launched a new go to market channel program, Managed Service Provider Program, designed to provide a ‘whole of needs’ approach for customer solutions via a partnership approach.

Aimed at system integrators, telecommunication vendors and service providers who offer outsourced managed services or hosted solutions, the program will assist partners approved to be part of the program in the delivery and management of network-based services, applications, and equipment to enterprises, other service providers and possibly even residences. There are a number of Elite Partners who are already part of the VERITAS Partner Program that have managed services capability including Volante, Unisys, Frontline and Dimension Data.

The end user will benefit from significant cost savings and improved management solutions, whilst partners will gain access to a number of VERITAS named accounts and key channel accounts.

Commenting on their partnership, Chris Munro, Victorian Regional General Manager for KAZ Technology Services said, “KAZ has worked with VERITAS for many years and its software has long been a key part of our services offering. The KAZ appointment as one of the first Australian VERITAS MSP partners brings the relationship closer to a more strategic partnership. Together, KAZ and VERITAS are focused on helping clients reduce cost, maintain compliance and increase business efficiency".

In addition, Rodney Nirens, National Manager with NEC Business Solutions, commented "NEC sees this as an opportunity to enhance its Service and Product offerings in both our Systems Integration and Managed Services business."

To specifically ramp and manage this program, VERITAS has appointed Richard Dufty as Strategic Alliance Manager across Australia/NZ , reporting to Archie Wilson, Regional Director, Channels and Alliances.

Commenting on the program, Mr Wilson said: “The overall objective is to work with a small number of key partners in Australia and New Zealand who not only understand the business, but who have the capability to offer VERITAS products and solutions as a managed service, whether it be hosted or outsourced to the customer.

We appointed Richard as his experience in enterprise software and the channel specifically provides us with a strong basis to recognise the opportunity of the Outsourcing and Managed Service Provider (MSP) market growth levels over the next three years,” concluded Mr Wilson.

Mr Dufty has had several years’ experience in the software application sector both in senior sales and channel roles. Most recently he was responsible for building and managing the Channel and Alliances at CRM company, FrontRange Solutions.
