SYDNEY, Australia, April 19, 2005 – The role of FileMaker Pro in post-production for film, commercial spots and television programs will be featured during the 2005 National Association of Broadcasters Conference, Las Vegas, at the Final Cut Pro Users Group (FCPUGnet) meeting, Wednesday, April 20, from 5 to 9:30 p.m. at the Stardust Hotel (see more details at http://www.sfcutters.org/).
”FileMaker is especially pleased to help make the Final Cut Pro Users Group meeting a success. FileMaker Pro has always been a favourite tool in post-production,” said Steve McManus, General Manager, FileMaker Asia Pacific. “More recently, the ability of FileMaker Pro to easily store, catalogue and manage any type of visual and audio file has made it increasingly popular throughout the creative process.”

“As the integral database solution for post-production, FileMaker Pro makes a terrific duo with Final Cut Pro,” said Ramy Katrib, founder of post-production firm Digital Film Tree (www.digitalfilmtree.com), of Los Angeles, which consulted and provided pos-production work on the movie “Cold Mountain” using both Final Cut Pro and FileMaker Pro. Digital Film Tree has also done post-production work for 20th Century Fox, NBC-TV, Dreamworks, Miramax, MGM, Warner Brothers and Sony Picture Studios. “Digital production technologies have now made it critical to be able to manage and easily retrieve the large and diverse amounts of video and audio assets during the post-production process. The effectiveness of FileMaker in managing these assets enables me to spend more time on the creative side of editing.”

“Because so much footage is now shot out of sequence, FileMaker Pro is especially helpful in continuity tracking across a production or episodes,” said David Knight, principle of Angel City Data (www.angelcitydata.com), a Burbank, CA, a custom database developer that has worked with a variety of entertainment clients, including Disney, BBC, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Dick Clark Productions and A&M Studios. “FileMaker Pro handles the left brain side of post-production data management so Final Cut Pro users can focus their energy on right brain creativity,” added Knight.
