drive.com.au picks up the pace with increased leads and
largest audience

5 May 2005 – drive.com.au, the motoring website of Fairfax Digital, The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age, claimed the title of number one automotive website in April, with 860,797 unique browsers* accessing drive.com.au content directly and through its distribution network of partner sites.

Leads generated through drive.com.au increased by 84 per cent from April 2004 to April 2005, with drive.com.au’s dealer client base increasing by 17 per cent since January 2005.

“Not only have we welcomed hundreds of new dealer clients to drive.com.au, our leads have almost doubled in the past year,” said Ms. Julie Coffey, General Manager of drive.com.au. “This is a result of solid marketing tactics, and our strategic content distribution partnerships with Yahoo!, Web Publications Pty Ltd (publishers of autoweb.com.au and autospeed.com) and, more recently, with Discount Used Cars.”

Dealers are listing more stock on drive.com.au than ever before, with a 12 per cent increase in the number of used car listings in the 4 months, January 2005 to April 2005. This increase validates drive.com.au’s move earlier this year to expand its partner network.

“This excellent growth solidifies drive.com.au’s position as Australia’s premier automotive website,” commented Ms. Coffey. “Reaching a wide, qualified car buying audience, drive.com.au has enhanced its effective advertising offering for clients, resulting in increased leads and ultimately car sales.”

drive.com.au is an integral business unit of the extensive Fairfax Digital Network, publisher of Australia’s leading news and classified websites that attract over seven million unique browsers** a month.
