New offerings including the HP Colour LaserJet 2800 All-in-One series provide affordable options for SMB colour printing

Sydney, Australia, May 12, 2005 – Hewlett-Packard (HP) Australia today announced a selection of new imaging and printing solutions that offer SMBs new capabilities for general office printing and in-house marketing.

The new range of printers includes the HP Colour LaserJet 2800 series, the HP Colour LaserJet 2600n, the HP Business Inkjet 1000 series, the HP LaserJet 1020 and HP LaserJet 1022. All of these printers have been designed to offer cost effective options for SMBs that want to have the highest quality colour printing, without the usual investment associated with it.

Irma Van Leeuwen, HP market development manager, IPG Colour Business Products, said, “The connection HP has with its small and medium business customers continues to drive innovation. The new HP Colour LaserJet 2800 series is just one example of this collaboration, answering the call for an extremely affordable colour laser printer that boasts brilliant print quality with up to four additional functions and standard networking, all at a market-making, entry-level price.

“These new printers effectively represent a new generation of colour laser printers for use in smaller businesses where they were previously too big or expensive to consider.”

The HP Colour LaserJet 2800 All-in-One series is a range of multi-function colour laser printers starting from just $1,599, capable of satisfying a variety of business needs. This is HP’s first line of SMB focused colour laser all-in-ones consolidating and simplifying printing, copying and scanning, as well as integrated networking into one space-saving, easy-to-use design. Fax and innovative photo memory card features provided on the HP Colour LaserJet 2840 model broaden the range of functionality.

The HP Colour LaserJet 2600n printer begins at $799 and provides a combination of extreme affordability, fast print speeds and high-level print quality. It is the industry’s first small desk-based colour LaserJet, including one-pass print technology, in which print nozzles are arranged in a row. This allows for faster, quieter and higher-quality printing than traditional carousel printing. The HP Colour LaserJet 2600n prints colour images 60 per cent faster than comparably priced colour laser printers(1) and is also supplied with industry standard network functionality.

The HP Business Inkjet 1000 series is specifically designed for high-volume colour ink printing. Its high capacity ink cartridges allow for low-running-costs delivering up to 4,800-optimized dots-per-inch (dpi)(3) while also offering laser-quality text, printing at colour speeds up to 18. An optional two-sided printing feature reduces paper usage. The HP Business Inkjet 1000 series starts at $299.

HP has also launched two new LaserJet mono printers, again with market-making pricing for SMBs.

The HP LaserJet 1020 is ideal for small business or home office use. It is HP’s most affordable laser printer, is simple to set up, prints its first page fast – even from a cold start – and has a multi-purpose paper input tray that supports a wide variety of media types and sizes. The HP LaserJet 1020 starts at $299.

HP LaserJet 1022 is designed specifically for small businesses that need to print high-quality documents quickly and affordably, and is capable of printing up to 19 pages per minute (ppm). All models offer flexible networking options for a variety of business needs and start at $449.
