NSW Health Selects Interwoven Web Content Management to Improve Communication of Critical Health-Related Information to Broader Public Audience

<p>Interwoven’s Industry-Leading WCM Solution to Streamline and Enhance Distribution of High-Quality Health Information to Department’s Growing Public Network and Internally Across the Organisation</p>
<p>Sydney, Australia – 17 May 2005 – Interwoven, Inc. (NASDAQ: IWOV), provider of Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions for business, today announced that NSW Health has implemented Interwoven’s Web Content Management (WCM) solution, to centrally, intelligently and efficiently manage the content of its public-facing and internal websites. The NSW government department expects the robust and highly-scalable Interwoven WCM solution to improve the distribution of high-quality health information to internal professionals and to the general public. Interwoven’s WCM solution is powered by its industry-leading TeamSite software.</p>
<p>NSW Health was driven to look at a way of communicating with their broad audience after research showed that 27 percent of all Web users in Australia were using the Internet to search for health-related information. This research, which came at a time when SARS was a prominent issue, convinced them that maintaining a website which contained up-to-date, timely information was not just important, but absolutely critical, commented Greg Weblin, online services manager at NSW Health. “The onus was on the department to provide accurate, relevant, error-free Web content to make sure that all involved parties—from the patient to the doctor—get access to the best of information on health issues.”</p>
<p>After much investigation of WCM solutions in early 2003, the department began to appreciate that it needed to streamline and automate the back-end processes involved in content creation and distribution to its website. “Once our needs became clear, we began to search for a full-featured, robust, and flexible Web-enabled content management system to meet current and future business needs. This would enable staff to maintain their own content, replacing the time-consuming, manual effort the department was currently using to update the site,” Weblin explained. “We also realised that by providing a common, centralised WCM solution, we could save considerable costs, particularly for the Area Health Services who could participate,” he added.</p>
<p>After a detailed evaluation process involving five different solutions, NSW Health selected Interwoven’s proven Web Content Management solution, TeamSite, which was put forward by systems integration company, Dialog. “We looked at how a WCM solution would help us reuse and reformat content, workflow and user management, and publishing capabilities. We also studied the vendor’s technology approach: did the company adhere to open standards, or were the technology and file formatting proprietary? Lastly, we evaluated the vendor’s viability and success in our market. Interwoven was chosen as it came out on top in all these areas.”</p>

It wasn’t just the product that was critical to us, however, but the support that we would receive during the implementation process and we were very much assured as to the validity of both Dialog and Interwoven,” Weblin added.</p>
