A high-end multimedia projector that's ideal for permanent installations from the boardroom to the classroom, Epson's new EMP-7800 can be mounted from the front, rear or ceiling. It can project images with a contrast ratio of 700:1 at a maximum resolution of 1280x1024.
With the projector's fantastic brightness rating of 3500 ANSI lumens (adjustable down to 2500), special wall shot technology to optimise colour output for screen/wall colour, and +/-40º vertical and +/-20º horizontal keystone correction, users should find integrating the projector into an existing environment to be painless. Setup proved simple with the multiple audio-visual connector cords supplied.
Video inputs include DVI, two VGA, RGB, S-Video and composite video. The device is networkable to help with error reporting and PC connectivity, courtesy of an integrated RJ-45 port. Special mention should be made of the password-on feature which, combined with a Kensington security port, helps deter theft.
Other notable functions include Preview (see all input sources at once), picture-in-picture (using a second input source), freeze frame and various pointer effects to aid with presentations. The supplied remote replicates most functions, has a laser pointer and can be backlit.
With a stated lamp life of 2000 hours and a lamp replacement cost of $899, the EMP-7800 ships with a two-year warranty.
