<p>VERITAS expands compatibility with AMD Opteron™ processor-based systems providing increased choice and investment protection across Windows and Linux environments</p>
<p>Mountain View, CA – June 8, 2005 - VERITAS Software Corporation (Nasdaq: VRTS) today extended its industry leading portfolio of storage, server and data management products to support AMD OpteronTM processor-based servers. With the immediate availability of VERITAS Storage Foundation™ and VERITAS NetBackup™ software for AMD Opteron processor-based systems running Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Linux and SUSE Linux, as well as VERITAS OpForce™ software for Red Hat Linux and SUSE Linux, and VERITAS Backup Exec™ for Windows Servers, VERITAS continues to deliver unparalleled platform flexibility and choice.</p>
<p>AMD Opteron processor-based systems offer new and better price/performance levels and enable customers to invest in 64-bit servers to run 32-bit applications today with the assurance of seamless migration to 64-bit applications in the future. With Microsoft’s recent announcement of Windows Server 2003 X64 Edition support for AMD64 technology, customers can continue to embrace powerful 64-bit applications without sacrificing their existing hardware investments in AMD Opteron processor-based systems. VERITAS Storage Foundation software combines VERITAS Volume Manager and industry leading VERITAS File System for complete, online storage management.
VERITAS OpForce software automates the process of server provisioning by discovering server hardware, installing operating systems, configuring applications, and modifying network settings on multiple servers simultaneously.
VERITAS NetBackup software delivers enterprise-class data protection for the largest Windows, Solaris and Linux enterprise environments, including corporate data centers.
VERITAS Backup Exec for Windows Servers provides comprehensive, cost-effective, high-performance, and certified backup and recovery.</p>
