Symantec and VERITAS Complete Merger

<p>This morning Symantec and VERITAS officially finalised their merger creating a new Symantec that will deliver information security and availability solutions across all platforms and to customers of all sizes.</p>
<p>Following is the media release announcing the completion of the merger.
In the new Symantec organisation, David Sykes has been appointed vice president of the Pacific region, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands; John Donovan is channels director for the expanded Asia Pacific and Japan geography.</p>

Symantec and VERITAS Complete Merger
CUPERTINO, Calif. - July 6, 2005 - Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) and VERITAS Software Corp. today announced the completion of their merger following approvals by both companies’ stockholders. The transaction was finalized on Saturday, July 2, 2005. As a result of the merger, shares of VERITAS stock were converted into the right to receive shares of Symantec stock, and VERITAS shares will no longer be traded.</p>
<p>By merging leaders in storage software and security software, Symantec will provide enterprise customers with a more effective way to secure and manage their most valuable asset, their information.
