Atdec elevates the world’s worst ergonomically designed product to a new degree of safety and comfort

 • 31 October, 2005 12:47

The Visidec Notebook Traveller 17T from Australian designer and manufacturer, Atdec Pty Limited, is a portable notebook stand that is an ideal companion for the travelling workforce and, indeed, any laptop computer user. One of the world’s worst ergonomically designed products – the notebook computer – now can be elevated to a safe and comfortable working position.

Visidec Notebook Traveller 17T is light -- only 0.6kgs yet is strong enough to support laptop computers weighing up to 4 kgs (8.5 lbs). Designed for most notebooks with screens up to 17 in. widescreen, the stand folds down to a mere 10mm (3/8 in.) thick and will fit easily into a laptop carrybag. Constructed from strong and durable polycarbonate, it also comes with its own protective nylon travel pouch.

“Many health professionals believe that the extended use of any computer monitor has the potential to cause serious injury to a user’s eyes, neck and/or back,” said Steve Crozier, Atdec’s Managing Director. “Our new Visidec Notebook Traveller 17T reduces the risks associated with long-term use of notebook computers by allowing the screen to be adjusted to the correct ergonomic height for the user. It has four height levels, and the support feet can be raised or lowered enabling them to adjust to a wide variety of notebooks.”

Visidec Notebook Traveller is designed to be used in conjunction with a separate keyboard and mouse and other peripheral devices. With it, travellers or field workers can create a comfortable workstation wherever they may be situated. The actual notebook support area measures 260mm (10 ½ in.) x 275mm (10 ¾ in.). As with all Atdec products, it is easy to use and comes with a five-year warranty.

Atdec partners with most of the key AV organisations such as NEC, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Samsung, LG, BenQ, Sharp, Sony, Panasonic, Acer, Dell and IBM designing equipment to suit their individual products. “These relationships and our own research keeps us informed of worldwide trends ensuring our products meet consumer demand and emerging technology requirements,” said Mr Crozier.

Competitively priced at $50.00 RRP, including GST, Visidec Notebook Traveller 17T is available through leading information technology resellers and major commercial furniture companies
such as Thinking Ergonomix and CEDIA members as well as retailers including Harvey Norman and Domayne. Atdec’s Australian State distributors are: Ground Floor Marketing (Vic and Tas), Debetrek (Qld and NT), Sylex (WA), Greg North (SA) and Corporate Express; New Zealand distributors are Sylex and Metrolink.
