Better known for its Bluetooth hands-free headsets, Jabra has now added the SP500 wireless speakerphone to its range.
Aimed at drivers, it comes with wall and car power adapters, a windscreen mount and a visor clip. It offers an impressive 20 hours of talk time and 480 hours standby, plus a pivoting microphone that can be pointed towards the user.
What makes this unit stand out is the DSP (digital signal processor) that monitors ambient noise and adjusts the speaker volume to compensate. Plus, it's easy to pair up and use, and includes a large answer/end call button, volume dial and mute switch.
The SP500 is let down by its accessories, which feel cheap - our windscreen mount was easily dislodged, but reluctant to let go of the SP500 once attached. That aside, the SP500 is an effective hands-free solution for the car, which could just as easily be used for office conference calls.
