Home entertainment show gets bigger

The second annual National Home Entertainment Show will be twice as big as last year when it opens its doors this weekend.

On display will be a huge range of digital photography, home theatre, gaming, mobile phones and portable entertainment.

Leading vendors including BenQ, Samsung, LG, Sony Computer Entertainment, Microsoft, Asus and D-Link will all display their wares. Local industry representatives will include Optima, Altech and Alloys International.

Rather than having many more vendors in attendance this year, it was more a case of last year's participants increasing the size of their displays, according to event organiser, Wayne Castle.

Samsung, for example, took 225sqm of floor space compared to 100sqm at the inaugural show.

And rather than just drumming up interest, gear displayed at the National Home Entertainment Show is very much for sale.

"One of the main differences of this show from a retailer's point of view is that consumers can buy products on the day," event organiser, Wayne Castle, said. "And because there is an entry fee, only those who are genuinely interested will come along."

The show is being held at the Sydney Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour, November 4-6. While it is targeted at consumers, it will be resellers that get first look because the Friday morning is trade only. Entry is free from 9am to midday as long as resellers register and bring a business card along.

If you wish to attend, or are interested in displaying, call (02) 9923 4913.

The National Home Entertainment Show is presented by IDG, publisher of this site.

It’s easy to set up, it’s compact and quiet when printing and to top if off, the print quality is excellent. This is hands down the best printer I’ve used for printing labels.
