Brightpoint Signs Distribution Agreement With Skype

<p>Brightpoint Australia has signed a distribution agreement with Skype Technologies S.A. ("Skype"), the Global P2P Telephony Company ™, under which Brightpoint will act as an authorised distributor of Skype products and services.</p>
<p>"We are pleased to be moving forward in our relationship with Skype by providing distribution and other integrated services." Stated Felix Wong, Managing Director, Brightpoint Australia. "We believe that our core competence and capabilities will provide Skype a compelling value proposition."</p>
<p>“The Skype agreement allows Brightpoint to offer a new range of products in a market that we previously have not had a presence in. This partnership will mean that Brightpoint can present existing channels with a wider offering, but also encourage the opportunity to develop new channels”.</p>
<p>Brightpoint will initially focus on promoting Skype products and Skype Premium Services to its independent agent/dealer channels, mass and specialty retailers. The first products will include of a range of certified hardware - starter kits, headsets, dual capable phones (PSTN and VoIP) -which will be bundled with Skype airtime.</p>
<p>Brightpoint is planning to offer resellers a range of product bundled packages.</p>
<p>Skype is the leading VoIP-category product worldwide with more than 48 million registered users. Skype's free Internet telephony software allows free, unlimited Skype to Skype calls. Skype's Premium Services offer inexpensive, seamless connectivity to ordinary fixed and mobile telephones as well as advanced Internet telephony features.</p>
