WWF Australia signs with Sophos for continued computer security

<p>Sophos, a world leader in protecting businesses against spam and viruses, today announced that WWF Australia has signed a new two-year deal to continue protecting its vital conservation research and other information with Sophos Anti-Virus.</p>
<p>The conservation organisation first deployed Sophos globally, including its headquarters in Sydney and branch offices in Melbourne, Canberra, Darwin, Brisbane and Perth in 2002.</p>
<p>Encouraged by the superior flexibility, centralised management and security performance proven by Sophos Anti-Virus since then, WWF Australia will now deploy upgraded Sophos Anti-Virus licences across its Australia-wide network of servers and desktops.</p>
<p>WWF Australia works to deliver practical, science-based solutions to Australia's key environmental problems. Its mission is to conserve Australia's biodiversity – the variety of animal and plant life that we enjoy – much of which is unique to this country. WWF Australia’s current work focuses on threatened species, fresh water, southern oceans, Tasmanian forests and climate change.</p>
<p>Sophos Anti-Virus will protect WWF Australia's range of environmental and threatened species research as well as policy documents and confidential supporter details.</p>
<p>"Since WWF Australia made the decision to use Sophos as our national anti-virus provider, their solution has proven to be very comprehensive and flexible, meeting the varying demands and capacities of our geographically diverse locations," said Justin Farr, WWF Australia National IT Manager.</p>
<p>"From an IT manager's point of view, Sophos Anti-Virus is very simple to implement and administer and leaves you feeling safe in the knowledge that the automatic updating and distribution of anti-virus signatures works seamlessly and easily.</p>
<p>"Because of this performance, WWF Australia has signed up with Sophos for a further two years and we have upgraded our user count to be consistent with our growth," Farr said.</p>
