NETGEAR expands range of smart switches to deliver simple network management

<p>Sydney, Australia (July 16, 2004) – NETGEAR (Nasdaq: NTGR), a leading provider of easy-to-use, high-performance networking products, has launched its latest Gigabit Smart Switch offering non-blocking gigabit power and simple switch management.</p>
<p>NETGEAR’s GS724T 24-port Smart Gigabit Switch is a Layer 2 switch that is managed via a browser, which is ideal for growing businesses who want the benefits of management without the cost and complexity of a fully SNMP capable network. The GS724T delivers large amounts of multimedia, image and video information in no time at all, and includes:</p>
<p>- 24 10/100/1000 Mbps ports, each capable of powering 2000 Mbps of data throughput in full-duplex mode, plus two optional fibre ports that provide fast backbone and connection for servers or power users;</p>
<p>- 10/100/1000 automatic speed and full/half-duplex sensing plus Auto Uplink™ on every port;</p>
<p>- Two hot-swappable Two Small Form-factor Pluggable SFP GBIC slots provide optional fibre connectivity for greater distance;</p>
<p>- An intuitive web-browser interface that offers simple switch management, with enables performance monitoring, port configuration, VLAN for traffic control, port trunking for increased bandwidth and Class of Service for traffic prioritisation.</p>
<p>The GS724T is the latest addition to NETGEAR’s smart switch range, which has already experienced great success within the Australian market. It is available for the RRP: $1,639 inc GST and is available from NETGEAR’s value-added reseller located throughout the country. This product comes with NETGEAR’s standard three-year warranty, with increased technical support also available with NETGEAR's advanced warranty.</p>
