VODAFONE ANNOUNCES NEW VALUE BUNDLES

 • 14 July, 2004 10:41

Competitive new mobile pricing plans from Vodafone turn up the heat on fixed lines

In a further blow to Australia’s fixed line network, Vodafone announced today a range of new highly competitive pricing bundles that provide customers with increased choice, simplicity and value for money.

With no lock-in contracts, per second billing, transparent pricing and a choice of four new simple ways to pay, the new bundles are set to woo customers away from inflexible and expensive mobile plans and provide them with an even greater excuse to get rid of their landline or mobile contract.

Customers can select from the following new bundles, called Super Cap, Mega Cap and Night Talker, available in pay monthly on the 23rd of July and in prepay at the end of August.

According to Grahame Maher, CEO of Vodafone Australia, the new bundles are just the beginning as Vodafone continues to deliver on its aggressive strategy to shake up the Australian mobile market.

“We really believe it’s time to make this market simple and easy, with greater choice and value for the customer, and Vodafone is leading the charge. We’ve spent the last 18 months getting our business into shape so we can now afford to pass on the benefits to our customers.”

Vodafone Super Cap:-
- Customers spend no more than $79 and can use up to $500 of value - which includes all standard voice calls to any mobile or landline, voicemail, TXT, PXTTM, data browsing (GPRS) and Vodafone 123 in Australia.

- Standard calls are charged at standard rates (60c per minute with a 20c call connection)

- Per second billing on standard calls

- Standard TXT is charged at 25c
- No lock in contract

Vodafone Mega Cap:-
- Customers spend no more that $149 and can use up to $1,200 of value - which includes all standard voice calls to any mobile or landline, voicemail, TXT, PXTTM, data browsing (GPRS) and Vodafone 123 in Australia.

- Standard calls are charged at standard rates (60c per minute with a 20c call connection)

- Per second billing on standard calls

- Standard TXT is charged at 25c

- No lock in contract

Vodafone Night Talker:-
- Customers opt for a bundle of free minutes to any mobile or landline in Australia – between 8pm and 8am when they select a minimum monthly spend of $30 or more.

- The higher the spend, the higher the minutes offered:- for example a $30 spend includes 120 free minutes, a $50 spend includes 240 free minutes and a $100 spend includes 720 free minutes.

- All standard calls are charged again at standard rates (60c per minute with a 20c call connection)

- Per second billing on standard calls

- Standard TXT is charged at 25c

- No lock in contract

Grahame continues: “The new Super Cap and Mega Cap bundles support our commitment to driving down the cost of being mobile for customers in Australia. We know that these offers will be incredibly compelling to customers who spend over $79 on their mobile or fixed line and want the peace of mind that their bill will be the same every month.

“Unlike some current competitor bundles, with the new Vodafone value bundles customers don’t need to buy a new handset and can take advantage of per second billing on standard calls. Significantly, we recognise that every customer is different and use their mobiles differently, so we’ve included more than just standard voice calls in the bundles. Vodafone customers on the Super Cap and Mega Cap bundles also get voicemail, TXT, PXTTM, data browsing (GPRS) and 123 services used in Australia included in their credits.”

Graham continues: “We’re continuing to rewrite the rules of the mobile industry in Australia, with no lock in contracts and no exit fees.

“With more and more Australians now actively comparing their fixed line to mobile spend in response to Telstra’s recent fixed line rental price hikes, we believe the new bundles offer another reason for them to ditch their fixed line.”

Super Cap, Mega Cap and Night Talker complement Vodafone’s current bundles, Talker, TXTer, 365 day (available on prepay) and Talk & TXT (available on pay monthly).
