RSA Security Grows its Share of the Global Authentication Market

<p>RSA Security Inc. (Nasdaq: RSAS) today announced that it has maintained its strong lead and grown its market share in the global authentication token and authentication revenue markets, according to IDC’s Worldwide Hardware Authentication Token 2005-2009 Forecast and 2004 Vendor Shares report (IDC Document Number 34452, December 2005).</p>
<p>The company grew its market share of global Hardware Authentication revenue to 47.2 percent – an expansion of 20 percent from 2003 to 2004 and more than triple the share of its nearest competitor.</p>
<p>In the Traditional Authentication market, RSA Security grew its market share by 16.5 percent to a total of 73.1 percent – more than seven times the share of the next-ranked vendor. Similarly, its share of Authentication Server revenue reached 70.9 percent – a growth of 27.2 percent and more than triple the share of its nearest rival.</p>
<p>“These results reflect the depth of expertise and innovation that comes from RSA Security’s relentless, 20-year focus on developing and implementing two-factor authentication,” said Steve Terry, Sales Director – Australia and New Zealand of RSA Security.</p>
<p>“Now, with the acquisition of Cyota, we have added six years of fraud expertise to that deep expertise in two-factor authentication. This paves the way for RSA Security to offer the industry’s most comprehensive set of authentication and anti-fraud solutions for a single provider. Our offerings now span anti phishing and pharming, mutual authentication, risk-based authentication, transactional authentication, and one-time passwords in both hardware and software,” he said.</p>
